Client is reporting intermittent Internet outages, and I am trying to zero in on where the problem lies (i.e. Internet feed, WiFi, etc.) The basic topology is:
WAPs —> network switch —> Mikrotik Routerboard 750 ----> Spectrum Modem/Router —> INTERNET
I am hoping someone can point me to a function of the Mikrotik router that would allow me to see trouble routing from LAN/WAN. Also, how can I monitor the connection quality from the WAN port out to the Internet? As a simple example, is there a way to ping google.com from the router and record the results?
What other tools/functions of the Mikrotik should I be relying on for this troubleshooting?
