More information in wireless registration table?

Hi to all

Firs I want say, that Mikrotik RouterOS’s solved most of the problems with my wireless network. I’ve set up fast (30Mbps - 70Mbps) and reliable network backbone using Atheros 5212 and 5213 atheros cards and lots of 802.1b WAPs for my clients using Prism and atheros cards. Earlier I was using mainly Proxim products, but powerfull PC with RuterOS gave me much more capabilities. Thanks for the great work!

But I’m lack of (probably some other people also are) some more information in wireless registration table. I’d love to see such info as:

    • noise level & SNR of the connections
    • number of transmitted/received frames with retries (and multiple retries) & number of frames transmitted/received without retries
    • number of failed transmitted/received frames

I think, that such informations are very usefull for wireless networks administrators., they can help to easier diagnose and problebly solve some problems.

Thanks in advance for answer f it is possible for You to add above mentioned features to the RouterOS v2.8. If not, could it be added to RouterOS v2.9.

PS. I’d like to know, if there are any other peoples, who would like more informations about wireless connections

I will check about prism, I thought we showed noise floor. Maybe we only show SNR and call it signal quality or something.

I will think about what we can provide for non-mikrotik clients.

I agree with miyake that wireless registration table should have more info, but my sugestion is to add: IP address of the client (not only MAC), and change place to show comment (not above the line describing client, but in another column)

We may be able to have “last IP address” transmitted from, but there can be multiple addresses for a client radio – this is mac level.

/interface wireless registration-table print oid

will be the best info we can get
