Mounting Disc Lite5

https://routerboard.com/RBDisc-5nD

Hi there

can anyone tell me how to mount this Antenna to a pole? There is only a metal ring included, but there is nothing in the middle of the antenna to put the ring through. Only two possible passages at the side othe antenna.

And what is the middle connection for? Ist it for a special mounting bracket? But which one? Bracket for SXT is similar, but not fits perfectly to this.
The manual doesn’t say anything about this…

Thanks in advance

Yes, you need to mount it on the side.
The middle is for a separately available mounting adapter:

Many thanks for your reply.

This will help a lot!
I missed this information in the short manual included.

Well, some new Mikrotik gadgets are like puzzles. I had also big problems mounting a CAP (MikroTik RBcAP2nD). After an hour I had an idea how to mount it. But I never realized what the big metal ring was for. Also, no instruction included :frowning:

In my opinion, Disc is too ugly antenna to be mounted at all;), but yes, the price makes close your eyes.

We are now including mounting guides for newer products, like the wAP and cAP lite:

In future, any device with more complicated mounting, will have a guide for that

Not usable for normal cables :frowning:

How thick is that cable? It works fine with all the shielded ethernets that I found here.

It is not the cable, the plug is the issue, if it is to long.

Same issue as on first SXT in 2012…

Normal outdoor cable 6-7mm

Our device has the same, and fits easily. Can you send more photos to support@mikrotik.com?
We just tried it, there is plenty of space and no problem to close it.

Maybe most of us (luckily not I ) have ever had to live in one of those communities where there have extremely fussy rules on what can be mounted on the outside of a house or apartment. In a situation like that the HOA-friendly designs of the Mikrotik products I am sure make a big difference in acceptability.

Same Issue on SXTsq AC

SXT is outdoor product. Most customers use an outdoor FTP cable. Crimped to the desired length…

My Jacks with kink protection don’t fit

You can use a knife to cut off few millimeters part of the cable protection. Or use connector crimpled to cable without it.

But why Design is going backwards?

The first Sxt Models had this issues too, and some models later the Ethernet plug ist played better on the pcb… and know Same fault again, have they learned something in the years between?

You can put whatever on the cable and say it cannot fit. You can always find a cable with longer bending protection that will fit anywhere. Just cut it off and make new connector there. I can’t understand how it could be a problem.

Can anyone suggest a bracket so that the Disc antenna can rotate vertically (because it is designed only horizontally) on the same bracket in the picture.

P.S.
OuickMountPro do not offer, it will all look like …
Ubiquiti UBI-BR…?
