The office was carpeted and the computers were moved. When reconnecting the remote user could no longer connect through Microsoft VPN connection. The previous IT person had the server on a dynamic ip which probably changed on the new hookup. How can I troubleshoot this?
use DNS if the IP is dynamic. That will do the trick.
I think it would be better to make the server a static IP. I think that it might be a routing problem. I still can’t connect either from the internal network or the public network. Any ideas?
When I try to connect through the private network, the Microsoft VPN client says: Error 800: Unable to establish the VPN connection. The VPN server may be unreachable, or security parameters may not be configured properly for this connection
I am using the current ip address and not DNS.
What should I change?
