Moving current Wireless Configuration to new Box and OS

My shop is working on moving a active configuration (V2.9.21) to a new box housing a RB44 and new OS (3.11 or greater). The old box is not running a RB44, just 2 NIC cards

We have attempted to place the new configuration online, but we then watch the wireless network crash (we are using the Mikrotik to run our wireless configuration LAN / DHCP / Vlan / Hotspot). I have verified all the settings are the same btwn the old and new boxes.

My questions are -

  1. Can you import the 2.9.21 configuration into the new OS, and other than some interface changes should the import work correctly?

  2. Or should we install 2.9.11 on the new box, import the old configuration, verify it works, then upgrade it to a newer OS and then test again?

With active users this does make it a PIA to test and work on a active circuit.

Our system move and upgrades to a new location are at a standstill until we can resolve this issue.

Any ideas are appreciated.

Howie

I think in either 1 or 2 variant the interfaces will not be the same you must reconfigure the hole RouterOS; better to test install 3.22 and import you will see what is happening; But I recommend to do the configuration again you will be sure that this will work well, in less time.
