moving from 2.4Ghz to 5Ghz help

Hello all,
First I will start by laying out my system.

At my office I have a RB433RH Verson 3.10 with 2 R52h Radio’s named Core

At a remote tower I have two RB500R5 Verson 3.10 with R52h radios named RB1 and RB2

RB1 and RB2 are connected via ether1
RB1 Wlan1 is 2.4Ghz Backhaul connected to Core Wlan2 using HPOL grid antenna
RB1 Wlan2 is 2.4Ghz AP with a 120deg HPOL sector pointing at 0 deg

RB2 Wlan1 is 2.4Ghz AP with a 120deg HPOL sector pointing at 120 deg
RB2 Wlan2 is 2.4Ghz AP with a 120deg HPOL sector pointing at 240 deg

I currentley have a sig of -52 on my backhaul connection at 2.4Ghz. (Great!)

What I wanted to do was move the backhaul to 5Ghz

I changed the Antennas to 5Ghz grid on both sides and changed both radios to 5Ghz
and Now I get no connection. I put the client in scan mode and seen NO AP’S AT ALL not even a weak signal!! what step did I miss?? the link is about 5miles.

make sure that the Frequency that you chose on the AP is in the standard range that clients can scan for

This is between two router boards

Core is set to AP(Wlan2) and RB1(Wlan1) is Set to Station

the two router boards connects fine at 2.4 but cant see anything at 5ghz

Can you hear the signal in one side or the other ? which frequency exactly are u working on ? what type of grid dish do you have ? and what frequency they works on ? most of 5GHz grids works on 5.7-5.8 range only, you may used the 5.1 or the 5.4Ghz frequency form ROS.

Also make sure you pointed the grid exactly to the other side, try the alignment tool .

No I Could not here any signal, I was on the first freq in the list and dont think I tryed any others. the Antennas are GD5W29 , 28.5" X 36", 4.9-5.85 GHZ, 29 DBI GAIN, PARABOLIC GRID, N(F) and was pointed just the same as the 2.4 that I took off working with a -52 signal

post full config from both sides of the links. do the clients actually have 5ghz functionality ?

Well this may be a realy dumb question, but I am not shure how to post the full config. Is there a way to dump everything to a txt file? or should I post a backup file?? Please let me know how you would like to see me do it, and I will be happy to post it.

I would think the client supports 5ghz. It has a R52H Radio in a RB500R5 Level 4 Lic
