Moving The Dude

Good day…

I want to move to The Dude RouterOS server to server with Windows, but can not do that. When I do a backup server, The Dude is restarted when downloading a file backup.

How can I move it?

Change the chart time down to a low value to reduce the size of your database wait a couple days for the data to be removed. Export after that then change back(or wait for them to fix the bug). When on windows do not let the Approximate Storage Size be more than 2gb.

I did as you wrote. Backup is created, you see ‘Download’ and all, the server hangs … What else can you do?

There is some issue with dude on Router OS where export is not working and others have reproduced the issue. I thought that the database would get smaller but it seems they might not compact the database ;(

Please Normis/MikroTik do some bug fixes and look at the trouble folks are having with Router OS and dude export. As a guess I would say examine the IO loop it seems to be conflicting with the disk access loop…

Thanks,
Lebowski

it would be great if the mt folks could do something about this one. I am stuck right now with a lot of historical data that I would really hate to loose…
