MPLS over OpenVPN

Dear MK enthusiasts,

I try to achieve transparent bridge link between a central MK router ( x86 ) and multiple client routers ( CCR ).

Actually I’m using EoIP over OpenVPN ( central router is server - some clients don’t have public ip ( LTE or HSDPA ) ), it’s working well, but performance is not the best due to EoIP overhead.

I want now to use MPLS to have better performance.

I create VPLS with OpenVPN IP ( client / server ), but I don’t understand which MPLS interface must I use and transport IP must I choose.

Can you help me to achieve this project ?

Thanks

A.

Hi everyone,

Just to be sure to understand, must I use a 1522 MTU on the OpenVPN interface ?

My central router is x86 ( VirtualHost ), can I push a 1522 MTU on interface as well ?

Thanks a lot

Hi,

I just understood it’s not possible to achieve MPLS link over internet ( VPN or neither ) due to MTU value of equipment along the route.

So, is there another way ( other than EoIP ) to achieve transparent link between 2 routers over internet ?

Thanks

A.

Set MPLS MTU to 1500 and it should work.

Is that will look like a PPPoE tunnel ?.
