I have 2 devices that need to communicate via MQTT on the same Subnet on a MikroTik AP
I have installed the IoT package and now have a MQTT option in the menu - I added the IP range and restarted the AP and the devices but they still don’t communicate
I can’t find anything in the documents or online to help me with this setup
kinda necro-posting, but still, I guess you better check if such connections are allowed in firewall (or wifi setup, if you’ve chosen “client isolation”)
Make sure that pings between the MQTT broker/server and RouterOS work. If both devices can reach each other and pings are successful, you can use a tool like Packet Sniffer - to see whether the MQTT packets are sent/received back: https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Packet+Sniffer
