MT 3.16, AR5000, no go

This is fun. I have a AR5000 11a card that is not showing up in 3.16 mipsle. Any ideas what could cause this?

It shows in resources as:

Vendor: Atheros Communications
Name: AR5000 802.11a Wireless Adapter (rev: 1)`
Catagory: Ethernet conteroller
Vendor ID: 0x168c
Device ID: 0x0007
IRQ: 15
Memory: 11400000-11400000 hex

It could be too old… i.e. no longer supported?

Caveats:

*) dropped support for Atheros 5210 wireless cards;
