MT Flash IDE Drive

Hello,

I purchased a IDE Flash DOM with Mikrotik loaded on it. It will no longer boot and i would like to reload mikrotik on it. Any hints on how to do this without messing up the format on it?

Thanks,
Matt

It worked and now does not any more or it didn’t work from the very beginning?

You can use netinstall or cdinstall. It will format IDE flash, but license will be saved. Also you can save configuration if any exists.

Well it worked on a motherboard i had the problem is i had routerboard 44 legacy issues. So i changed the motherboard and now tested it on 2 different boards and will no longer boot up. I’m not sure what happen to it but i will give the netinstall a shot.

when you say that it doesn’t boot - what do you see on the screen exactly? how far does it go and what message does it show before it stops?

During the bootup the bios says its no longer a bootable device. It stops right at the point where it would boot the kernal loader. I put it in another pc and it saw it under device manager.

Well, check if you have plugged it in IDE1 slot and check if switch on IDE flash is set to MASTER. If that is correct, try reinstalling it.

just in case - check if power is connected… i myslef once lost that small wire…

raivis-v,

you were exactly correct. It was set to slave. The second i switched it to master it worked!!!

Thanks So Much!

You’re welcome
