I have done many MT to MT and MT to Linksys VPN tunnels successfully, and have no problem with all the MT programming of such tunnels.
I have found no definitive thread or knowledge base addressing the setup of a VPN in either Main mode or Aggressive mode to a Sonicwall ASA product.
While there are many threads, none seem to come to a definitive solution, rather, they trail off on tangents.
I would like simply this:
A set of screenshots from the Sonicwall VPN setup, not from the Sonicwall Wizard, but from each screen of a built and operating VPN in either main mode or aggrressive mode. The Mikrotik side is no mystery to me, only the Sonicwall side, as I cannot seem to get SA’s on each side of the tunnel .
So ,
from each screen / tab of the setup of a Sonicwall a simple set of checked boxes, address’s , dead peer option, proposal, ID mode (I get Invalid ID Information in the MT Logs and dont understand why), etc.
It seems one param is not matching up to the Tik and not allowing one side of the tunnel to construct. I have never seen the “Invalid ID information” error before in any tunnel I have ever contsructed on a Tik, and wonder if this is a function of the Sonicwall’s GUI not matching up or adding something the Tik does not recognize.
There needs to be a sticky or saved setup thread for this , I have wasted hours looking for this info, I would rather not use the Sonicwall at all for VPN to Tik, but this is the hand I have been dealt today.
If you have a Sonicwall, and want a Karma point, please screenshot your sonicwall’s VPN screens for the tunnel to your Tik and post it here…no doubt many people will want to see it.
There is a thread with shots from the “Wizard”, but those are no help , the real shots needed are from each tab in the VPN setup for that tunnel …all the way through advanced.
