Hello Folks
Can someone please help me understand the configurations required…
I got the following setup
Dlink Dsl- 2740U Adsl router in bridge mode ( Got 8MB adsl line download / avg 0.5MB upload)
Found mikrotik PPPOE setup easier as it easy to switch over to different ISP accounts
Main Mikrotik Routerboard RB951G-2HND (firmware 3.41)
Ether 5 - Dial PPPoE
Ether 2 - Considering getting Wifi from an ISP to assist mostly with uploads as ADSL upload is barely 0.5mb
Bridge ( Ether 3/4/5/Wifi) 192.168.88.1/24
Got mikrotik Cloud service running to access network remotely - however noticed quite a few hacks which cause my CPU to spike too on router.
On avg we got 10-15 devices connected to our network with connect to internet.
However would love to have ability to disable INTERNET on selective devices (allow Local Traffic only - Such as Media Centre Box )
On DHCP Server I set statics (manually) to each device to assist with ( smart control of Plex and Teamviewer ect )
Now because my main RB951G-2HND lans are full i want to connect a secondary one to the network.
However we travel allot and i normally take the spare router with for network on the road ( for PPP dial on 3G + Network Printer )
We have gone to Guesthouses where I prefer to dial our own adsl account
Now would love advise on how to configure second router as complex..
Been looking at PCQ and Queues to try manage the network as we been doing alot of upload traffic which cause alot of problems lately. (cloud syncs)
As mentioned looking to get an Secondary WAN ( Wireless ISP to provide better upload) - possibility to do uploads only via Ether 2 only or traffic load balancing.
Secondary router -
Ether 1 Adsl Dial - disabled if not required - preference 1
However if at home would like to give Port 5 Uplink Preference
Ether 5 ( Uplink) - if there existing Lan for internet - preference 2
PPP - 3G dial to share 3G connection on usb port - preference 3
Running DHCP (Bridge 192.168.10.1/24 - Lan 2/3/4/ WIFI /3G)
We use our internet for Internet Gaming / Netflix Streaming or Youtube and Browsing.
