MT Solution for HSDPA soon?

When will Mikrotik launch an elegant solution for running HSDPA on routerboards?
AFAIK, currently the only option is PCMCIA or USB clients on the RB230.

When do we get HSDPA MiniPCIs supported in Routerboard/ROS?
If MT could come up with a solution for this it would soon be a success!

Have been talking to Uldis about this, and I understand there are some obstacles made up by the HSDPA cards relying on an USB controller to work. Any progress on this?

Another workaround would be USB or PCMCIA support on one of the newer PPC-based boards, enabling us to run both HSDPA and several radios on a neat-sized powerful routerboard.
12V supply is a requirement, for fitting into vehicles and boats.

Any plans?

Really only me in this community who is concerned about HSDPA? :open_mouth:

I guess it’s like going on an Opel website asking when they’ll bring out a Volkswagen look-a-like that smells the same???

Dunno - WiFi & HSDPA = 2 different markets and business models???

So you mean that I’m posting in the wrong MT forum?

Well, MT and ROS is all about networking, wired or wireless, and what kind of wireless standard you use doesn’t matter too much or what?

Does it have to be 802.11x?
I see a great potential using MT hardware and ROS to add functionality to moving devices, connecting using 802.11x, GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA or whatever.
