Mtik hardware recommendation for large EoIP aggregator

Hello,

I currently have a x86 Mtik 5.24 running as a VM on ESX, with fairly large amount of CPU resources. However I do have to migrate the setup to a physical machine.

All this machine does is that it serve as termination point for 1000+ EoIP tunnels that end up on 2 bridge interfaces (1:1 ratio) with fairly complex filter list (dropping broadcast, handling arp etc.). Aside that it does some standard routing. Traffic is currently modest, but I would like this setup to scale to support at least 200Mbps of throughput through the EoIP setup (there will be no more than 1000 tunnels, but traffic will grow).

I would be thankful if some of you who have experience with such setups or Mtik support guys with insider info to give me recommendation for Mtik router in current product portfolio that will best fit my needs.
I do not know how these internal processes are threaded to serve multicore CloudCore platform and if plain AHx2 would perform just as fine. Money is not that much of an the issue, I would just like to know inner working related to my setup and how to scale it properly … perhaps separating the setup to 2 routers for each of the bridges?

Also would my setup benefit from moving to 6.xx ROS version?

I actually use 4 x RB1100AHx2, still 6.7 for too many bugs from 6.8, each with ~800 users
I never use bridge, I have some EoIP and the PPPoE server at the end of each bridge.

See the picture…
