I have a customer and the 500 series router finally died. So I replaced it with a speedy RB450G. The optical connection to the routerboard demands an MTU of 1596. The old router board supported this. The new RB450G only seems to support up to 1524 MTU.
I am getting a lot of RX errors on the uplink and the lan interface. Do you think this is related to MTU?
The Uplink interface SHOULD be set to 1596. The LAN interface IS set to 1500.
Too many RxErrors on the RB450G. The 5xx series board had a fair amount of Tx Errors on the same circuit.
Any thoughts? I’m kinda lost/out of ideas. I know the RB1000 supports large MTU’s - but that router is a little pricey for this application.
