Anyone had to change MTU settings to get DHCP to work?
We replaced a windows based hotspot with a Mikrotik and had problems with XP clients not getting IP addresses on the hotspot interface.
As soon as we put the windows system back in the client got an address.
I’ve read about the router black hole problem and thought this might be something worth trying.
I have a simular issue. I have mikrotik in place and when using linksys wet-11 bridges and clients I can pickup dhcp with no problem. But there is a modification to the linksys 56g routers that turns them into a client instead of an AP. And I have found them very unreliabe in picking up dhcp address from the mikrotik unit. I have veryified both sides are set to 1500 mtu.
To be honest I never thought that mtu would effect dhcp though? does it?

Linksys has some issues with router black hole syndrom.
The odd part is that DHCP works with the windows based hotspot and not MT.
