I’m trying to setup two APs in our network.
One to provide WPA access and one to provide WEP access.
The actual setup is quite basic with ap-brige on the main interface and a virtual interface on that with two different security profiles, one wpa and one wep.
The AP that is bound to the main interface and bridged into the network workes perfectly but when I try to bridge in the VirtualAP, that runs the WEP security profile, it simply doesn’t forward the traffic ?
I tried with open-access (with no security settings in the security profile) with the same result so it aint a problem with typo
Is this a known no-no or am I simply doing something wrong ?
Shouldent a VirtualAP be able to exist in the same bridge as the main IF ?
I thought I’d be able to setup unlimited number of VirtualAPs and put them all in the same bridge ?
My goal is to provide WPA and WEP access. I really dont care how as long as it is done all in one AP with a single WiFi card.
The MT release is 2.9.6 with Atheros AR512 wifi card.
What I’ve tried so far is to have the WPA access on the wifi card itself and a VirtualAP with WPA security profile.
The single WPA access works flawlessly but the WEP access refuces to make a connect to the network. They are both bridged in the same bridge and futher to all FE ports that exist on the box - more or less its a switch with wifi access.. which is what I want.
Any reasons to why this shoulden’t work ?
