Using AP in repeater mode , is Multi-SSID repeating allowed ?
I dont see why not…
Although personally i always try to avoid any repeating technique…
When I go to Wireless → Setup Repeater it asks me for wlan, SSID and phassphrase,
If I repeat this procedure for a different SSID on the same wlan it overwrites the previous one (id doesn’t create a further virtual wlan) that’s why I’m asking if it is really possible…
The Wireless → Setup Repeater is just a wizard to quickly setup a standard repeater configuration.
Use it once and see what it does in the Wireless interface and Bridge sections, and then you can manually add the same for other SSIDs.
So I can add multiple virtual wireless interface as slave of master interface, then add them to the same pertinent bridge…good
What about master and slave wireless interface having the same mac address , but when adding a second virtual with the same mac address it says me “mac-address already in use (6)” ?
What mac addres should I use for each added virtual wireless interface ?
You should create your own different MAC addresses that hopefully will be unique.
The standard way to do that is to add 02 to the first byte of the MAC (e.g. when it is E4 you make it E6 (this indicates it is a locally invented MAC) and then vary the last byte of the MAC address.
It would be best to use a station bridge mode on your wireless interface, if the AP is Mikrotik, and then create a virtual AP in AP bridge mode…
Thus, you totally avoid the repeating…
So it goes like AP → Station Bridge → AP , no repeating
Instead of AP → AP , repeating , loss in Bandwidth
