I’ve been digging through the forums and the wiki but was not able to find a solution to what i need to achieve.
Scenario is:
I have 2 WAN connections, WAN1 and WAN2. On the LAN side i have two business units, each one in a separate VLAN (Org A and ORG B).
ORG A should use WAN1 and ORG B should use WAN2 having traffic shaping applied each.
If ORG A does not saturate WAN1 ORG B should be able to borrow bandwidth from their WAN connection and vice versa.
ORG A is paying for WAN1 and ORG B s paying for WAN2, both business units are fine with borrowing bandwidth to the other when they don’t need it themselves but insist on being able to use the full bandwidth of the line they are paying for when needed.
Up until now i was using 2 older Cisco routers and a PFSense box behind them to provide that functionality but as I need to replace the CISCO units I thought of replacing them with a Mikrotik Cloudcore box. Sure i could just replace the old routers with the mikrotik and leave the Traffic Shaping on the PFSense box but I had hoped there would be a way to do it in one box.
I’d really appreciate If anyone could point me in the right direction.
