Multicast feature request : 1RP for several groups

Hello,

Have a small “feature” request for multicast, i want to associate several groups with the same RendezvousPoint

For example,
group : 239.200.0.0/16 RP = 10.11.12.13
group : 239.250.0.0/16 RP = 10.11.12.13

At the moment, when i try to enter the second line, i have the error message :
Couldn’t add New PIM RP - already exists (6)

Think it’s “only” a problem in the web interface or the CLI
because when the routerboard receive the same information from another router (not mikrotik one)
through bootstrap message, it correctly understand and accept that their is 2 groups with the same RP
and works fine

Would be great if you had time to find a solution to this problem

Thanks,

manually it is not possible to add several group entries with same RP configured. You will have to use dynamic configuration (bootstrapping) to set up groups as you wish, or add one entry that will cover both of your IGMP group ranges.

I’m on 6.42.3, and just hit this limitation, 5 years later after last post in this thread it is still not fixed.

I can’t even add a disabled RP with the same IP and switch between them - with the same message “Couldn’t add New PIM RP - already exists (6)” ..

Other end with Arista didn’t expect me facing such problem..
