multicast poor performance

Hi,

I see high packet loss and poor multicast quality at 5Mbps video even if the link is 150Mbps p-p link 1.5km.
I have tried the tricks of the book to get multicast sent as unicast - any more hints ?

I have set up static wds between a bridgde and a station wds. The bridge side wds is active
and is showing traffic but the station side wds is active=no and sees no traffic. But the traffic
gets received on the wlan1 interface.

Lowest basic rate is set to 36Mbps

wireless multicast-helper=full

I have software version 5.24

Another advice is tunnels but I can’t see how I could use tunnels like gre og ipip in bridge mode ?

that wireless multicast was to help mobile phones to connect to wifi…yes?!

have you uncheked all smaller basic rates also for ht-basic-mcs? As it does not matter what lowest basic rates to use.

because it turns multicast packets into unicast and that could cause unwanted re-transmits and degrade the link.

I have adjusted the mcs rates without multicast video improving to ht-basic-mcs=mcs-4,mcs-5,mcs-6,mcs-7,mcs-10,mcs-11,mcs-12,mcs-13,mcs-14,mcs-15 ht-txchains=0,1 .
I am unsure if I should expect one or two chains to be active.

I have left multicast-helper=full because I can’t afford loosing packets in the video streaming.
