I’ve got a setup like this
server wireless switch -------------
-------------------------------------------router on port 1 of the switch
-------------------------------------------rb532 on port 2 of the switch- then wireless of that rb532
from the linux router I can pull 20Mbps from the server over the PTP link, from behind the rb532 on the wireless side, I only pull 3mbps… but I can 20Mbps from the router when on the wireless side of that last rb532
so I can pull 20Mbps on each link, but going through the both links I see an issue - any thoughts?
Maybe the rates on your ethernet ports are causing problems? Try forcing some common speed, like 100/half or 10/full to see if it changes anything. Also, there have been some issues with the ether1 on RB500 on some older versions…maybe try upgrading if you haven’t already?
I am upgrading now and also looking into if the switch is not able to handle the traffic or if the design on the switch (ie: 2 banks of 8ports ) is limited throughput
its tough to test w/o a ftp/wget/scp on the routeros ![]()
