Multiple Tagged Vlans !

On our network we have multiple tagged VLAN’s ( 90+ ) from CCR2116 to D-Link 24 port switch > PTP > D-Link 24 port switch and this switch it has some PTP’s + AP’s connected to most ports!

Now this my question - as each connected has multiple Tagged VLANs -
(1) Should each port be set as “Trunk” and add “Allowed VLAN Range” tagged with “Ingress Checking” enabled ?
(2) Or should I set the port as “Hybrid” and create a PVID for each port and add the tagged VLANS as a member of that port?

Any advise or suggestions is most welcome!

are you talking the MT switch or the Other vendor switch?

(1) D-link switch DGS-1510-28X
(1) D-link switch DGS-1250-28X

Are used either side of the PTP ?

The vast majority of our network is Mikrotik for AP’s + HexPOE RB960PGS + some PTP’s - Ubiquiti AF-5XHD used now for PTP’s

Sounds like a question for DLINK forum then////

I happen to use DLINK switches as well and I set mine to trunk ports when multiple tagged vlans are coming into a port.

Many thanks for your reply and I also had a preference for trunk mode but not sure how it would work with mikrotik ?

Before I post on D-link forum can i ask do you use “Allowed VLAN Range” tagged with “Ingress Checking” enabled or just allow all Vlans’s on the trunk ports?

On my trunk ports I have ingress checking enabled and admit all for frame types. I suppose I could change that to tagged only as that is what is proper.
