Multiple Xbox 360's - RouterOS 3.23

I am having a problem getting multiple Xbox 360’s connected properly to Xbox Live through an RB450 unit. The Xbox will typically use upnp to forward port 3704 for the first console, and when that is in use a random port between 20000-30000 for any subsequent consoles is chosen. This is essential for online gaming as a lot of games employ peer to peer hosting where players need to connect to your console. The Xbox provides no setting for which port it uses, so in a static configuration without upnp, only one Xbox can have port 3704 manually forwarded to it with a rule.

The main issue I can see is that RouterOS does not support the Xbox’s implementation of upnp.

At the moment I am having to use an Asus unit with dd-wrt instead of the routerboard because of this issue. :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:
dd-wrt handles the upnp properly, and I have attached a screenshot of the upnp page from the web ui showing the second consoles upnp entry.

If anyone knows how to fix this problem, or if there is a version of RouterOS that supports the Xbox upnp implementation, any assistance would be tremendously appreciated. I cannot use this wonderful router otherwise.

You didn’t say if you already tried the UPnP functionality in ROS. Here’s the link:

If you have, and it is not working, post your UPnP and masq configs here.

Yeah sorry, my mistake, I have tried the upnp feature and it works perfectly for everything except Xbox Live. On a Playstation 3 for example, a dynamic rule is created when the device is turned on.

I gave up…

I can get a second DHCP address from the cable provider for 5.00 US

I picked up a T-Mobile Linksys router for my wife’s phone and pushed my 360 thru it as well..

we need the difference of the regular upnp client and the xbox upnp client, maybe then we could check if we could make some workaround.
We don’t have a xbox to test it.

I would be willing to assist in any way possible with the 2 consoles I have here uldis. Please let me know what I can do to help.

please write to support@mikrotik.com - they will tell you what you should do

How do I transfer data from one Xbox 360 hard drive to another? I want to go from one 20GB to another one. This is because my xbox just died, but the hard drive is fine. I bought it from costco and it is possible to return it there for a new one if I return everything that originally came with it. That means I would have to return the hard drive with all of my save content. Is it possible to transfer the content to another hard drive(my friend’s) and then return it to the new hard drive that would come with the xbox I would buy?
