Well I wasn’t expecting them to say, “Hey we released it.” I was however hoping for them to kinda give an update on where they are in the process of it.
They have been pretty clear that there will be no status updates until a beta is released.

No ROS7 i will stop to buy MT products sorry.. BGP is not working well:( Creepy multicasts, and hmm GPON is the future.

One guy said they had been so busy on developing new hardware that they had not worked on version 7 so there was no progress.
This is a bit disappointing. One would hope that developing hardware and new software is done by different people.
(of course that means there also has to be a team that develops support for the new hardware in the existing software version)
My opinion still is that version 7 is the “project Longhorn” (Windows Vista) of MikroTik. Continuous remarks and (unofficial)
announcements about how great it will be, schedule slipping all the time, at some time drastic measures are taken to get the project
on the road again, something is released and it falls way short of all highly pumped-up expectations. This of course is then explained
as being caused by all the exciting new features that had to be dropped to get the product released.
Then, a new “version 8” has to be defined to clean the mess and restore the confidence.
I think the whole “we will rewrite everything and release it as the best version ever made” approach is a recipe for disaster.
Instead, they should just have released a new version 7 with “only” the new Linux kernel that is required as a foundation for new
features, and then incrementally release new features and software replacements (like the new routing engine) first as optional
packages and then incorporated in the standard release. This is the way it has always been done, and it worked.
I can confirm normis said that yesterday during opening session ..but he was only joking, probably in order to avoid ros7 related questions. 
Hey now, do not put words into my mouth. I never said anything about RouterOS 7. You can re-watch the announcement video and see.

No it was not you, it was not in the opening talk (that I missed) but in a later lecture by a MikroTik employee.
So if there’s no info about product release date (quarter) in a slide, should I assume it will be available in very near future (basicaly the product is ready to be released) ?
I’m particularly interesed in CRS317-… (the one with 16 sfp+ ports)
