i installed a mikrotik licence on a pc and i use it as a server. it is working fine it gives dhcp to computers connected to it through lan cables and brings up the login page and i connected some radios to it to give also wireless internet access and laptops can connect to it.
But the problem i have is that, pc server restarts itself and request for the login and password. Do i always have to type the username and password. can’t the pc be permanently on, because i have put a constant power supply to its but the mikrotik pc server/router keeps restarting it self after say some hours.
what command do i give it so that it remains permanently on. when it restarts and i type the username and password it log me in giving me this: education@mikrotik on the black screen. but after some hours it see it requesting for login name and password. why. is it a problem or what?
1.) What version are you running?
2.) You don’t need to login every time!
3.) What does the log say about the reboot? maybe set up the serial console for better logging?
4.) What type of hardware do you use?
Upgrade. 2.9.27 is no longer supported. If you have a valid license you can upgrade for free. If you don’t, well, you’re probably not going to get support in the vendor forum.
thank you but it was working properly then I had this problem just two days ago .. so if was the an old version problem I should be facing it ages ago ..
Are you using a cracked version? People tend to be extremely annoyed every time someone are trying to get support using this version.
If you have a valid license, just upgrade and see if it helps. In case you are not having a valid license, just get one because it will be more fun if you can upgrade to newer versions of RouterOS.
