Hi, I’ve been recently given a MikroTik for testing purposes but it does not seem to work. When I power it up, there should be a beep sound, but nothing like that works. Ethernet port leds are barely visible and microprocessors on the board are getting more hot than usual. Any advice what’s going on?
FYI: that’s a very old and legacy/discontinued product, and even does not have Gigabit, ie. it’s a slow device (100Mbps):

If the CPU is getting really hot, it’s probably fried and not recoverable. This sometimes happen when switching PSU fails and puts full input voltage (12V) to the CPU.
It may also have bad capacitors, you can try replacing all the big electrolytic ones for a test and then try using RS232 console cable to see if it’s booting or not.
But from experience, every board that had overheating CPU (often going up to 80 deg C after a few seconds) was not repairable as CPU was damaged.
