I have two r52h cards but when i set the TX-power then i can only set one of them to 25dbm. But one of then cant be set to 25dbm. When i choose default then it only shows 20dbm. Why is that so? Im sure that i have installed a r52h card.
I was able to change it to 25dbm. What i did was i choose card rates and made it 25, then clicked on apply. The dbm stayed 25 when i changed it to dafault.
So now it works on 25 dbm. great.
if you set it higher than default, you will burn the card.
I have two r52h cards on my rb433. The one did show that the default is 25 and the other one showed 20.
I was able to change the default settings back to normal after i have the card rates to 25 and then back to default.
FYI: If you set the card to 25db, the highest rate you should transmit is 6M. If you transmit at 54M, you are overpowering the card, and the transmitter will probably fail after a while. 20db is the most I would use for a 54M rate, but it is your equipment.
Hmm but 25 is the default. Why would they set 25dbi at the default when it will damage the card? The higest i ever got with my r5h card is 36.
Is 20dbi = 100mw?
The “tx-power-mode=default” setting does not use the “tx-power” setting. Only the “tx-power-mode=card-rate” setting. It uses its own built-in settings for each rate.
cool so must i set my tx-power mode to “card rates”. what do you use?
I use most r52h units in b-mode (11M max)
tx-power-mode=card-rates
tx-power=22
If you use g-mode or a-mode, then tx-power=20 is as high as you should use. I would probably use 19.
Ok i think i will use 20dbm.
