Hallo my internet is down. This moring i have check my system logs and saw that at 4am the card have deauth 4 time’s after each other. Now the link is down. When i do i scan then i dont find any ap’s, i tried all channels and freq. I also tried to reboot the router. It was raining yesterday and last night but the link was OK when i went to bed. What can it be? Can the card be malfunctioning or may have overheat or damaged. Or is it just the rain and wet weather. It have stoped raining but stil down.
Can anybody help me with this issue. The card is a r5h card that i ahve bought a month ago.
the distance is 1.2 km.i have two 5ghz 24dbi grids with a rb 433 as the ap and a rb 411 as the client. they both have r5h cards with a mmxc-to-ntype-male connector. and a lmr-400-ntype-male-to-ntype-male. the ap is almost 3meters high and the client aswell.there are some trees but not 2 much. when i do a scan from the client side i cant pickup any ap’s.i was able to before.i dont hope that the card is damaged or the mmcx connector may have umpluged by itself..
I think my r5h at home is messedup.I setup a ap close to it and it did not pick it up. I will have to check tomorow. I dont hope that it is serious issue. And if the card is faulty then i hope the company will take is back.
What were your signal strengths when this link was working? They might be too strong and causing stress on the radio cards.
For these antennas and the short distance you could have easily used a much lower power card like the R52. Our goal is usually -50 to -65dBm. If you are seeing -20 to -30 it might be too much signal and cause card damage.
But since you mentioned rain, I would suspect that you have water in the connectors or cable. Did you waterproof your connections?
The signal was -80, sometimes -91. I did some tests and replaced the cable and the card and the rb board. But still nothing. I wonder if it may be something in the way. wet trees? I tested all my stugg and does not find problems. I wonder if the antenna may be faulty. I always waterproof my cables and connectors. I first thought that it may have been teh card. But i removed it and pluged it in at the ap. The card showed the same results as the card the ap was using. The sun in shining today but still no luck, i dont know what to do.How can i test if the antenna is giving the problem.
Hi all thankyou for all the help. The reason for that the antenna was not working was that the n-type male connector that fits at the back of the 5ghz antenna had water in it. I cannot understand how that could have happen.I used hot air to remove the water.I just dont hope that the water had or will damage the antenna ir connector. I will get a waterproof tape and frimly tighten it. thanx
