What error do you get? Can you see the MAC address of one of the ethernet ports when you click the three little dots?
thanx hilton for answering
i use to get in with telnet and it doesn t work
it says: connecting the poort of mikrotik and then the 80 port but it isn t geting into
i had the same problem before but i had disabled the lan interface
and now everything is fine on the lan
i don t know why it isn t connecting maybe i think i have to set the mikrotik ip from the begining
or i don t know.
where do u think is the problem
i ll try to see and tell u if they are enabled or disabled.
thx again hilton

Download neighbor viewer

not with command.
i want to enter and it says could not fetch index from mi ip port 80 disconnected

So you can telnet or mac telnet into it now?
yes now i can but the problem is that i want to sign in at the mikrotik in via winbox
and i can t.
i don t want to use comands to make a change at my mikrotik.
i have installed mikrotik at an intel and i need help to sign in via winbox through lan not via telnet.
thx for your time
tony
Ok so this proves that your username/password is still valid and that your network comms are working.
So the router is still working but you can’t access it via winbox?
In winbox you can’t access the router by the MAC address? What is the error message?
sorry
yesterday i tried with this neighbour and it worked fine.
i just tried again
and it says
login: (my username)
password ( my password)
trying (my mac address for just one second)
connection time out
and get disconnected.i can ping my router i just try that.
i can sign in mikrotik via telnet co i have connected it to a monitor but i don t know what to do.
thanx again
What version of winbox are you using?
Also make sure you have no other network active. Disable all others (wireless bluetooth etc). I mean go into windows and right click and disable.
i use 2.2.13 version winbox
but the version of my mikrotik is 2.9.27
and no other connection like wireless or bluetooth is enable they are diabled.
i made a new lan interface
and the same problem happened.
Is this a legal version? If so I would upgrade to at least 2.9.51. Toy can open up ftp and upgrade like that. There were plenty of bug fixes so it’s a bit pointless trying to fix a problem that may well be sorted out with an upgrade.
But I would get onto the download site pretty quickly as the latest version is available (3.11) and I would imagine the download site will become rather slow for a while.
i don t know if that is legal my enginier made it
and if i do an upgrade i don t know to make the comands from the begining so i can t upgrade.
and i don t know even to upgrade mikrotik it has no internet in it.
thx anyway
Once you upgrade support will be available to you.
but the problem is that i am a beginer and i don t even know how to upgrade.
can u show me how to upgrade.
i tried to make a backup
and it says the name of back up and when i give it the name it sayd wrong name.
i am stucked here and if i make mikrotik from the begining i think i will not be able to configure itand i am afraid i will lose it but i want it so much.
i know u are bored by me but i need help.
thanks
tony
Take a look at this article;
http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Upgrading_RouterOS
You just need to know how to use FTP.
big problem.
the article u just sent me says connect to your router with winbox and the problem is that i can t so even thi9s can t help me upgrade.
i have some backup and i think that will help but i cant use any of these backup cos it says wrong name.
thx for helping
Nonsense, you didn’t read the entire article. You don’t have to connect with winbox.
First telnet into the router. You’ve established that you can do this.
Then check if the FTP protocol is enabled.
/ip service print
If there is a X next to FTP it is disabled in which case you would do this;
/ip service set ftp disabled=no
then fire-up your favourite FTP program (Filezilla is mine) and point it to your router and upload the latest software and then back in the telnet session, you’ll issue this command;
/system reboot
Give it a go.
sorry hilton i didn t see the last article.
i download filezilla and try to connect with my mikrotik and it says:
Command: open “admin@192.168.1.250” 21
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Could not connect to server
what can i do now?
thx
