Hi, which mini-pci cards support 802.11N and can be used in RB333 without any problems? I am looking for both 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHZ.
None, yet.
why?
Primarily becasue MikroTik doesn’t yet have support for 802.11n radios. The most promising gear appears to be the SR71 series from Ubiquiti but a quick search of the forums would show that every time someone asks about 802.11n support, there is a static NO reply. As I was told by Normis, they are working on it but can’t give a date because they have no idea how everything is going to work out. You do have the option of using the RadioDriver from Ubiquiti and working with the 802.11n cards that way. I would imagine that MT will have 802.11n support by mid year (hopefully).
When would it be supported?
If It is not supporting, Do you know any company’s fastest 802.11N Card that I could use it with maximum speed for bridge? Of course it should has antenna output connectors.
If you carefully read what I stated above, MikroTik hasn’t said “when”. They do state that they are working on adding 802.11n support but they don’t want to jump the gun and just throw it out there and have it broken or disfuctional. As was said before also, Ubiquiti makes several 802.11n cards, the SR71 series to be exact, which have all the great features we’ve all come to expect from Ubiquiti and they are 802.11n. Ubiquiti also has what they call the RadioDriver which is a modified Atheros driver for Linux that supports the 802.11n cards. It can be installed on anything that supports linux for the most part, meaning you can pick your hardware and load the driver on top of what is there.
so we are waiting Ubiquiti?
strange thing: in latest versions of Ubiquiti RadioDriver is bug with dfs radar detect.Mikrotik have same bug from 3.2…
