NAS / Printer in Hotspot

Hallo,

i need your help, and excuse me for my bad englisch.

i have a miktrotik Hotspot, WinBox v3.61

we have a NAS and for some of the Hotspot User we need Access to the NAS.
Ist there something to do, that a few User / MAC-Adresses can access to the NAS?

Your best solution would be to get the NAS on a seperate routed interface with it’s own subnet. The problem you are likely running into is the universal NAT feature of the hotspot. It basically arp-poison’s the entire layer2 network so it can act as the default gateway for every device. This is done so a computer that comes in with static IP settings for another network can work without needing to modify thier local settings. You can also turn that feature off by modifying the Hotspot server settings address pool to none, but then are giving up on that functionality.

Thanks,
can you say me where i must change the setting, that the NAS will be in a separate routet Interface?

It really depends on your configuration. What you would typically do is plug the NAS into a free port on the MikroTik, setup it’s own IP subnet and whatever other services you want to run on top of it. You then build an appropriate firewall to allow and dissallow what you do or do not want.

Ok, Thanks.

The NAS must directly at thePort on the MikroTik, or can i use a Switch between?

It’s my first time i use MikroTik,
can you help me, when i send you my configuration?
