I saw in an earlier post that a version of the dude server for mikrotik x86 would be coming at some point.. I was wondering what the status of it is. Also are there any thoughs about releasing a native linux (or freebsd) dude server?
I’d be more than willing to help beta test a linux or freebsd version..
you can’t run it witout X, but you can run it with X framebuffer, without login(user) session.
And there is no plan from developers to port dude to *nix. Maybe wine will grow up sometime to fully support dude
you just need to install wine, xorg-x11-xauth on any *nix. then just enable X11Forwarding in sshd_config. then just ssh -X or putty http://www.math.umn.edu/systems_guide/putty_xwin32/xfwd_putty-sm.png via ssh. It’s running smoothly without actually having “startx” I have Dude installed on FreeBSD 8.0 and CentOS 5.5.
