You can try to use GNS3 to simulate the entire topology.
I understand your problem, that creating a real network can often take a few days, thus rendering the trial period insufficient, but with GNS3, you can create the entire topology in a few hours, tops. You can create as many VMs as you want, and try out as many different setups as you want, before you commit to a certain type of setup, buy a real router, and set it up accordingly.
(P.S. Version 6.20 has a problem with VMs though… use 6.19 for now…)
