Need advice for wireless network with 3 APs with 2 wlan card

Hi,

What is the best option for covering large indoor space with threee APs each with two cards, it needs to be only one SSID and each AP can be connected to company’s switch or can be connected to other AP directly through patch panel. I have 50 Macbook airs that will be connecting through that network and also that I can set firewall rules mainly for blocking torrents.

Thanks.

i have tried this in an auditorium with 50 devices laptops/smartfones almost 20+ concurrent users and it worked good on my 751U-2hnd. No one complained. bandwidth utilisation was approx. 8 mbps. If u have more concurrent users u can go for rb 433ah or rb800 with r52hn and dual pol. mimo antenna.

Sorry, let me clarify my question. What I meant was what what mode to use? Mesh, WDS or something else. What did you use for that auditorium?
I have three 433GL and 6 RB52Nm cards.

Thanks

i used 1 single device rb751u-2hn

You dont need to use Mesh or WDS.

Simply set up the access points using the same SSID, but set the channels apart onto non overlapping channels. 1,6,11 or similar. Only use one radio per AP case, unless one is 2.4 and the other 5.8. Drop the radio power down so theres not too much signal floating around.
Wire them all back to the switch.

I personally would wire them all back to an rb750 or similar, running all firewalls rules and some traffic shaping on there to make sure no-one abuses the system.

Have done this many times but usually with 200+ users on the system

I set them up as you said, same SSID, channels 1, 6 and 11 and it’s working pretty good.

So I won’t be able to use two radios on one board? How many clients can one radio take with decent performace?

Thanks.
