Need Assistance from an Export - Willing to pay (training)

Hi guys,

I have used a mikrotik router for a really long time now, but I’ve never really used them to their full potential. I would like to someday get my CCNA as I work in the field, but I have a lot of other things to focus on right now (VCP, etc) and just dont have the time. What I’d like to do is have someone help me configure the router using the Best Practices method. I realize there is more than one way to skin a cat, but over the years I’ve found multiple ways to do firewall/nat configurations, and I’d like to understand the best case for my single public IP, home based configuration.

My budget for this project is $500. Though, I’d like to spend less, my main requirement is that the configuration steps be recorded. This should be easy with screencasting, etc. And I will have a few fundamental questions like, how would this configuration be different if I had 5 public IPs. Thats really the only question outside of the configuration, and I dont need an in-depth answer.

To start, I have an RB2011UiAS. I would like to configure 1 gateway port that mirrors to another port for an NTOP vm I will be configuring. I’d also like a 3rd port for wired LAN, and a 4th port for wireless. I need to understand the difference between NAT and firewall protection for these zones (I do understand both technologies, however, I’ve seen NAT rules used as protection opposed to hard firewall rules.) As you can tell this is a bit of a training session as well.

If you are up for the challenge, please contact me or post your contact info and I will reach out to you. I know I’m not asking for a super complex setup, I just can’t understand half of the documentation for this system as a LOT is inferred information, and often times an explanation is left out of how or why something works.

Thank you in advance.
