Too many questions at one time, you should refer to the RouterOS manual every answer to your question is there. Just have a look to the manual and if something you do not get right, somebody will help you through the forum.
thx faton…but.i need some snapshot…actually manual is very lengthy…and moreover the expreince of people can help me to configure them as best as possible..
OK I will give you some hints, so you can work on it.
For mac filtering you can use access-list under the interface, you can set arp in the wireless interface as reply-only, and than add static arp entries IP with associated mac address, use pppoe it is more secure.
..
i would like to tell u wht i want and how my setup is working..(i m a WISP)
I HAV ONE MAST (ONE OMNI ) AND ONE MIKROTIK FOR RECIVING INTERNET FROM MY MAIN SRVER WHICH IS GIVING STATIC IP AND STATIC GATEWAY..WHT I M DOING IS JUST I MAKE ONE POINT TO POINT LINK TO RECIEVE INTERNET AND THEN FORWARDFING IT TO MY WIRELESS CLINETS USING OMNI…I M NOT SUPPOSE TO GIVE ANY IP FRM MY OWN..MY INTERNET PROVIDER IS USING (INVENTUM) AND I M CONNECTED TO INVENTUM THORUGH POINT TO POINT LINK…
Easy way for MAC filtering, in the AP setting in Winbox, under Wireless tab, UNtick default authenticate & forward.
Then add MAC address of clients under Wireless/Access list, be sure to make the interface=AP and add comments so you know which client is which MAC for later admin.
thxxxxxxxxx ekkas..it is working fine..i was fully confident tht it is useless to get worried for any kind of wireless setting configuration in mikrotik..bec this mikrtik forum is full of capable and magical persons like u who are always here to help each other..great work keep it up man…
Yes this is a great community, but answering the same mundane questions over and over gets tiresome… In the future utilize the search feature on the forum and read through the documentation. This will better help educate you on the software you’re using and keep us from answer the same questions repeatedly.
One thing I’ve appreciated about the mikrotik software, is their GUI and command line interfaces are very similar in structure. So the examples they give on the command line can be relatively easy to apply to the GUI.
