Hello everyone!
I’m sure my issue is a simple one, I’m just not used to the completely bare interface of Mikrotik devices and am completely lost in all the options. (I’m mainly used to working with UniFi devices which offer a bit more guidance in setup.) I acquired a MikroTik hexS through my work, and since I was in need of some new home network equipment anyway, I picked up a MikroTik cAP to go with it. Everything is working well as is, except I need to configure some bridging.
My current setup is as follows:
Cable modem → cAP Home AP Dual(192.168.xxx.0) → hexS default(192.168.yyy.0) → Computers
Initially I tried to have them reversed, but the only way I could get WiFi working the way I wanted was with WISP AP mode with the hexS doing all the DHCP, and it was flakey, so I swapped them. Most of my personal devices are wireless anyway, with the exception of two desktop computers, so this arrangement kind of makes more sense anyway.
What I need to accomplish is to have eth4&5 on the hexS get their IP addresses from the cAP so that they are part of the main network.
Eth2&3 will be used to isolate computers I am working on from my personal network.
I appreciate any advise anyone can offer! Thank you!
