Welcome to the Mikrotik Forums!

It would be very difficult to provide advice without more information…

The short story is…it would be wise to use more than one of any type of AP (Mikrotik or otherwise) with a well planed antenna layout and Bandwidth management system to ensure that everyone has a fair chance at getting service. The RB800 is one of the most powerful AP products on the market for the money…but it takes much more than the board to provide service to 1000 concurrent users.

As for how many subscribers per AP at a time…again that depends on several factors. By AP do you mean RB800 or radio inside of RB800 ( You can have up to 5 on a single RB800). If you mean per radio…that depends on the type of antenna you’re using (Omni, sector) and Frequency, 5ghz? 2ghz? and the protocol A/G/N? Assuming you did everything according to best practices…I doubt many would recommend having more than 50 concurrent users per AP. With that in mind…You could have approx. 200 customers on a single RB800.

Now if your just talking about “HotSpot” subscriber management…thats whole different story:

Hope that helps.

no AP that can handle 1000 concurrent users. First that is crowded, You might need a mix of 5Ghz and 2 Ghz Radios on different sectors.
