I’ve just setup a windows 2003 server … I run it localy only.
I’m running a web site for locals only .. - works fine
I installed CS server - but couldn’t get to work
what I’ve got is: -
windows- ip address: 10.10.40.2
gateway: 10.10.40.1 - mikrotik (ether1)
what I wanna get is: -
I want people to be able to play cs but they are in different subnet
they are 192.168.11.0/24 and in differnet interface (not ether1)
so I want example: 192.168.11.34 to be able to play cs … on cs server that I hosted in win2003 server (10.10.40.2)
what will I need to do to achieve this scenario.
p.s. everything else works fine… web sites, pings etc.etc
thnx !!!
as far as i know CS demand to be on same network as its clients, so you can create PPTP tunnel for cs to this win2003 server
or run dedicated server and restrict access to it fro outside - if you want it to be for locals only, also maybe there is such feature built in, that allows only certain ip ranges to connect to.
Have you tried “connect 10.10.40.2” from cs console? If you can ping from client side to the server and vice versa it must work. Actually I didn’t understand what’s the your problem.
hey thanks for the reply .. well no I haven’t tried to do " connect 10.10.40.2" via cs console I’m not really into CS but my clients want it .. so I gotta figure it out …
so the problem was
I have a router 10.10.40.1 and I have a win2003 server 10.10.40.2
and I have clients 192.168.11.x what I wanna do is as follows
I want my clients to be able to play cs .. as I mentioned clients ip 192.168.11.x can ping 10.10.40.2 so it’s pingable but when they start the game CS 1.6 it doesn’t show them any server on Lan Game .. so they can’t actually connect to the game eventhough my is running but I’ll try to do from cs console “connect 10.10.40.2” hope it works… anyways thanks
