I am very new on wireless networking so please help me.
I am going to setup a backbond link between ISP and my office for redistribution of the bendwidth, when i contact a routerboard suppiler he suggest me the 711 5hn with a 22DBI INTEGRATED ANTENNA .
what i want to know is
Is 711 5hn with a 22DBI INTEGRATED ANTENNA the right choice.
How much bandwidth is expected with the said device.
But… what are you going to do exactly ? MIMO uses reflections, so 711 “n” seems to be a good choice. Remember that 22 dBi antenna would be quite big, are you going to use parabolic antennas ?
You should use RB711G 5HND or the newer RB911G 5HND because these router are dual chain, gigabit and the last has a 600mhz cpu. It’s important to know if there are interference because an panel with plastic box will not be a good solution. A very good solution will be an Jirous mimo parabola with metal case for router. Speed will be over 150mbps TCP. It’s an expensive solution but is the best one. http://www.i4wifi.eu/Antennas-5-GHz-1/PAR24-Duplex-2xPACK-antenna-24-dBi-radiator-and-holder-5-GHz.html
Jirous or Cyberbajt dual polarity parabolic antenna http://www.cyberbajt.com/en/shop_item/3138/sd_523hv_wb_box.html. As far as I know Jirous have some original plastic boxes to be used with parabolics. Plastic with some shielding inside also would be ok.
One of suppler is recommend me to use SXT G-2HnD, it has only 10dBi antenna and Tx-power of 32dBm as compare to SXT G-5HnD 16dBi antenna and Tx-power of 26dBm.
I am in remote area, MT product is not very easy to get, so please suggest me a good one.
Distance between the Point to Point connection is about 3 to 3.5 Km
SXT G-5HnD should be ok for that distance, but doesn’t guarantee anything. In urban area where is a lot of 5 GHz stations there can be strong interference. If you aren’t able to set up MT, ask for the help MT consultants http://www.mikrotik.com/consultants.html or QuickSet.
