how can i make three rb433’s{(ap1) linked tp (ap2), (ap2) linked to (ap3)} have the same wlan ip range? I want to start a wug and need help. I want to make aal the wlan have the 192.168.8.0/24 range so that everyone on all the ap’s have the same range and that they can share data etc.
Can someone please help me. I know how to setup eoip and bridge between two mikrotik rb’s but dont know about three. Can someone tell me what i must setup etc.
Would not suggest this. Will put lot of traffic on your AP and kill it fast. Routing better. That said, EOIP won’t function if ip’s in same subnet. Have to give each WLAN its own ip and subnet, can give Lan side ip’s in same range and have to set up routing. Use RIP, will do this auto. Create EOIP 1 from Ap 1 to AP 2 and create EOIP from AP 3 to AP 2. On AP 2 create bridge with EOIP 1, EOIP 2 an Wlan in it. ALso create DHCP server on Bridge with range 192.168.8.0/24 this will give ips . Put bridge on AP 1 and AP 3 with EOIP and Wlan in them. That should do it. Will create a link will look as one LAN.
Thanks i will try that, and what if i want to make the wlan on the same ip range? People is going to connect to the wlan of the MT’s so all the ip’s of the wlan’s should be the same.
Hi thanx man im going to try and setup it. Can you maybe help me with the rip setup please. I did not tried it before and if you maybe can guide me throught the stes then that would be great.
Sorry for late reply. Maby you got it, but very easy. In winbox choose routing - RIP. Add interface, default settings will do, then choose network tab. Add network, again, defaults will do. Thats it. Do this on all the routers. The router that has got the gateway, going to the internet. On the router with internet interface, click RIP settings and in the drop down box next to distribute default, choose if installed. This will route every thing to be able to use internet.
Hi i was able to setup most of my wlan to use 192.168.8.0/24
My current setup is. Mikrotik1 =
Wlan1 = no ip(AP)
Wlan2 = 10.44.101.2/29(station)
Ether1 = no ip
EOIP1 = remote IP is 10.44.101.1
(192.168.8.2)Brodge1 ports = EOIP1
ether1
wlan1
Mikrotik2 =
Wlan1 = no ip(AP)
wlan2 = 10.44.101.1/29(AP)
Ether1 = 192.168.0.10/24
EOIP1 = remote IP is 10.44.101.2
(192.168.8.1)Bridge1 ports = EOIP1
wlan1
Now i can use my ether1 on the 192.168.8.0/24 network. I have a omni on my roof so my signal is very weak. Now i can add another indoor ap so that my devices have better signal.
I still have trouble setting up rip but with look at the manual.
Currently i have setup dns to allow remote connection.
My current aim is not to allow everyone on the wug to use my internet, only me and my friend should be able. The other people must only be able to share stuff locally.
Rip easy, you should have figured by now. Make use of hot spot, just run hotspot wizard, works great to allow only certain people onto internet. If you do and you use RIP just add rule to allow RIP port, without having to use hotspot.
