Sorry but I have searched thru the online support documents (I am running 2.8.10) but am still having problems settings MT up.
I am testing in my home and I am trying to connect to a WRT54G Linksys Router (wireless with the MT computer)
4 workstations connected to a switch
1 Computer with MT installed (including Wireless package) also connected to switch (not the uplink port)
Using Prism based Linksys Card with MT
Can someone help me set this up from Scratch (I did a complete reinstall of MT today) I figured after I enable both ether1 I should be able to use winbox but am also lost on what settings I should give ether1
Hm, I am not sure that I understand your problem?!
But after installing MT, you should enable ether1 like this:
interface
then: print
then: set ether1 disabled=no
(remember, always use print command first or MT will not allow you to change anything. This is actually good thing cause you can’t change anything untill you see details)
Then you should run:
setup and give address to ether1 (for example 10.0.0.1/24)
After that you are able to use winbox etc…

I actually figured that part out. Here are my current settings
ether1=192.168.0.2/24. I can connet using winbox. Now my problem is what settings do I give my wlan1 (linksys pci card)
I have it enabled but it has no IP address (not sure if it needs one for what I’m doing).
If the box is actiing as a sort of repeater (to connect wirelessly to my Linksys Router downstairs) what are the settings for the card (options are ap, station, and ap bridge).
I have sucessfully setup MT as an access point/router before but I guess what I need now is the complete opposite (connecting my ethernet based LAN clients to the MT computer and then having ghe wifi card forward request to the Router downstairs).
