So I have a VLAN issue I would like some help with.
Ive got a ESXi server with two NICs. I would like to isolate my web server VM from the rest of the network and figured I could put it on a separate VLAN.
Question 1: Is using VLANs a good idea for that purpose? I would still want to allow certain traffic between the web server VM and clients on my network though so I’d create some firewall rules to facilitate that.
Now, on to the VLAN setup. Do I need to create a trunk bridge to be able to forward tagged packets? Could someone outline the steps I have to go through? The VLAN documentation on the Mikrotik Wiki is a bit confusing.
