Need info for my boss

We are currently looking for a good firewall!
Actualy, I have 2 good friends that work with Cisco and NetScreen (from juniper).
And someone came at me with the idea to buy a Routerboard 493G that will fit me needs !

I m kinda scared because I don’t know a thing about these boards even if they look awsome, a firewall in an insurance company is not a think you can be cheaping on !!

Anyone here is using this board as a firewall/router ( I will also have to route a bunch of Vlans ) and can you give me some info on the firewall ?
What it can do and want it cannot ?

The fact is that I gave my boss a charts with different specs from different firewall, but I cannot insert the Mikrotik’s spec in because I don’t find them !!
I can only find some specs about radio diffusion, Nand ram, processuer speed, ect !
It doesn’t give me the throughtput like firewall specs will, neither Mbps !

I need some guys telling me how awsome the product is, what are the pros and cons so the I can sell the idea to my boss !

There’s no generic answer to that question - it depends on what you’re trying to do. RouterOS can do everything iptables can in Linux. That includes some functionality that neither Juniper nor Cisco have. On the other hand, Juniper and Cisco have some functionality RouterOS/Linux don’t.
