I dont have lot of experience with Mikrotik and SFP modules
Not sure if this is a bug or something still not supported
Have 2xRB2011 with TP-Link TL-SM321A/B v6.0rc9
Link is fine and running but on SFP status TAB there is no Info

Same on my 2011, link is ok but no further status information, I guess 2011 hardware does not support it.
What model/brand of SFP module u have?
2011 hardware does not supported? - Do u mean this future will be never supported for this TP-Link modules
Can someone from Mikrotik confirm this? Cos my distributer told me there are supported *Yes there are working" but he didn’t mention there are fully supported “All futures with MT are working”
so I can cancel my next order.
Hi,
On reading this post, I’ve tried the following models -
- Foundry Networks - Model E1MG-TX
- Extreme Networks - Model FTRJ8519P1BNL-EX
- TP-Link - Model TL-SM311LS
I’ve upgraded the RoS to 5.23 and am unable to even see the ‘SFP’ tab inside the ‘sfp1’ interface.
Have yet to even connect to a remote unit.
Anyone seen this happening?
RB2011 board does not support diagnostics for SFP
Hi Uldis,
Therefore should I be seeing the ‘SFP’ tab as per the first post or not? - I am unsing a 2011LS-IN
I understand that the 2011 series does not have diagnostic support but should not the tab still be visible?
Rgds,
Mark
at first I was confused about that but it seams “SFP” Tab is available only in 6.x
Now its clear, pls upgrade your product specifications info
Really clever: RB2011 does not support SFP Monitoring
"RB2011LS is our first product with SFP cage for gigabit SFP transceivers and ideal solution for FTTH (Fiber To The Home) implementations. "
Are you guys crazy?
How many products you have in the field for FTTH-cpe with SFP-monitoring?
RB2011 actually does say that “SFP DDMI” is not supported: http://routerboard.com/RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN
Normis, that is not the point.
Why isn’t supported? Do you have no I2C onboard? Whom is making the design decissions at MT? Every time you could have a killer product one real missing feature degrade your killer to a normal product.
Examples
MPLS: Fast reroute is missing. No one at MT cares… With this feature it would be an real alternative.
RB2011: Have you ever thought about the market beside routing With DOM this is the only low cost managed media
converter. One one in the market has this for this price. But I think the sfp-slot has no wired I2C-Bus. So no
DOM
CCS: Did you research what chances are for a 24*SFP product or a product with POE-out (voip phone, cameras …) ?
DUDE: I know it is MTs hobby but people are begging for new versions and would pay for. Who cares?
Look at ubiquiti: They deliver a complete solution with all needed components (wireless, short distance backbone links, routers, POE-switches, management system …)
with all needed components
Many here would beg to differ.
