Hello, I am looking for the RouterOS v7.12.1 firmware for an arm architecture device. Can anyone please provide the download link or point me to the archive?
Why this specific version?
You can probably do URL rewriting, but it is something like:
https://download.mikrotik.com/routeros/7.12.1/routeros-7.12.1-arm.npk
First with command /system resource print check if factory-software is 7.12.1 or less,
or you can NOT install that version.
For netinstall you can use last version, is not needed the same exact version of netinstall.
Main RouterOS (the same of @erlinden )

And all other packages (wifiwave2, for example)

But install only the really needed packages, not all...
On this version (7.12.1) do not exist separate wirelless and wifi-* drivers,
but only default wireless integrated on RouterOS or additional wifiwave2 package that replace, once instaleld,
the integrated wireless driver inside RouterOS
Then if you could please explain why you want to use that particular version, that would be nice...
I think a bit of perspective doesn't hurt.
First of all, rextended is totally right that everything Mikrotik strictly obeys the "factory software" setting. However, Mikortik has been very accommodating in only increasing this version when there is a hardware compatibility change, i.e. the given hardware requires drivers that are only included in the software package from the given version. (And when it was increased during the product's lifetime, it was always because there was a hardware change necessitating new drivers, even when the product name remained the same.) So in case of factory software, nomen est omen is far from true.
It's also right that it's a bit silly to run versions that are long past their prime. Except. E.g. I have developed configs for industrial automation scenarios. Here it's totally usual that there is a golden configuration, together with a golden version that has been tested. It's totally logical to only change this if there is some necessity, and even then at everyone's own pace.
Or someone could simply be replacing a failed device. Not everyone wants to upgrade at the same time.
And traditionally, even though RouterOS versions steadily improve, it isn't true that you are necessarily better off with a newer version, or that you would be putting yourself into some sort of mortal security danger. While there were vulnerabilities, they are few and far between.
I think it's not exactly nice that Mikrotik has removed the archive corner of their website (although the files are still up, so anyone determined can find them.) Everything around configuring a Mikrotik is a bit convoluted, I fail to see why this is where the line has to be drawn. I think a sufficient disclaimer about old versions would have sufficed.
