Hello Everyone, I hope you can help me in this inquiry, as i’m installing 8 MikroTik cap xl ac Access points in our office & I need to know the coverage range in meters to make sure that i am able to cover the whole floor with the best possible signal quality, the are all installed on the ceiling & i need to know the coverage diameter for it, thanks in advance.
I always plan mounting AP that way that from each point in the office you “talk to” at least two of them.
If one goes down, the second could take over clients.
How did you get to the number 8?
Is there always a line of sight?
What are the requirements?
The problem is upside down again.
First they calculate approximately the number of points and locations on the building plan. Then they do a radio survey with the temporary installation of points, make adjustments. Then the required number of points is calculated and purchased. Then they install them again, do the radio survey and make corrections if necessary. Then test operation and corrections are made again. It goes something like this
More detail is required, a layout needs to be provided, shape height of ceiling, and knowledge of obstacles and walls etc…
Site survey is bang on. Get an AP hang it from the ceiling and start walking.
Good advice on having some overlap in case one goes down for some reason.
You disappoint me.
Hello Everyone, i’d like to thank you for your replies & support, i have attached here the Layout & some pics of the already installed Access points for your advice, simply i need to know the coverage diameter in square meters, or something, so i can be sure that the whole floor is properly covered.
Please note that there was no Radio Survey done, the placement of the Access points was as shown in the attached photo (highlighted in yellow marks in the layout photo), thanks again.
