Can you setup a tunnel to connect to a lan side interface. If so how?
The thing I’m trying to do is to tunnel to a MT thats running as a hotspot gateway and internet gateway. I want to have the tunnel to give me a bridge type connection to a wireless card in tat MT that will be set in station mode so that I can connect to the second wireless card thats in AP mode for the hotspot customers. The idea is to create a way of logging into the hotspot from remote for testing.
The MT has wlan1 for station, wlan2 for hotspot and ether1 for internet WAN
I thought I could put the hotspot in a bridge and then add a pptp or eoip tunnel to the bridge and then I would not need the station interface to get to the hotspot AP interface.
I don’t have another MT here to do this test but I think it should work.
First you will need two MT units. One will be for the remote and the other for the hotspot . create a EoIP tunnel on the hotspot MT and then add it to a bridge with the hotspot interface. Then setup the MT on your side with a EoIP tunnel and then add it to a bridge with the lan side interface then connect your PC to it. You should then be on the hotspot network.
Update!
I have a pptp tunnel from my pc to the MT and I set the mt side to local 10.5.50.1 and the remote to hotspot pool.
I can now get on the net like the hotel customers. But I cant get the hotspot screen, it just lets me go.
Hmm, damn! more work!
